Iran Drawn with Australia in AFC Futsal Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim)- Iran has been drawn in Group B of the AFC Futsal Championship Vietnam 2014 on Saturday.
Ten-time AFC Championship winner Iran is in Group B along with Australia, China and Indonesia.
Group A consists of host Vietnam, Kuwait, Tajikistan and Iraq.
UAE 2012’s runner-up Thailand has been pitted against Lebanon, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia in Group C.
Last edition’s champion Japan has been drawn along with Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Korea Republic in Group D.
The top three ranked teams from the previous edition -- Japan, Thailand and Iran -- qualified automatically to the finals while the Vietnamese qualified as hosts. The other 12 teams qualified from their respective qualifying zones, AFC wrote.
A total of 16 teams will participate in the showdown, which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 30 April to 10 May.
