Speaking Saturday with the vice-speaker of the African country’s parliament in Brazzaville, Ali Larijani said joint collaborations could help the Republic of the Congo make significant progress in its petroleum-related industries such as constructing refineries and petrochemical plants.

He underlined that Iran attaches great importance to ties with Congo-Brazzaville and is willing to expand relations with the African country in different areas, including engineering, medicine, agriculture, diplomacy, and legislation.

Larijani, who is heading a parliamentary delegation on an official visit to the Republic of the Congo, added that Tehran seeks greater ties between the two countries’ parliamentary friendship groups.

The vice-speaker of Congo-Brazzaville’s parliament, for his part, thanked the Iranian delegation for their visit to Brazzaville and urged for enhancement of bilateral relations.

He added that the Republic of the Congo is interested in benefiting from Iran’s experiences in the field of legislation.
