Iranian Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Southeastern City

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian passenger jet safely made an emergency landing in the southeastern city of Zahedan on Saturday due to landing gears failure.

Reza Arbabi, an official with the governor-general office of Sistan and Baluchestan province, told Tasnim that the plane was just about to land on the runway in Zahedan airport after one of its landing gears failed to deploy.

"Thanks to the captain’s timely reaction, all of the passengers and crew on board the Fokker 100 are in good health," local officials said.

"Nine people were slightly injured in the incident," said medical sources.

The aircraft was enroute from the northeastern holy city of Mashhad to Zahedan.
