Iran to Hold Confab on Islamic-Iranian Paradigm of Progress

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian capital of Tehran will host the 3rd conference on the Islamic-Iranian Paradigm of Progress, slated for May 21-22.

Secretary of the forthcoming conference, Hadi Akbarzadeh, described it as a major national interdisciplinary conference on the human sciences.

He said more than 60 major Iranian academicians will present their articles at the conference, meant to explore  the ‘existing concepts and theories on development and Iran’s experiences in this regard.’

Developing an Islamic-Iranian paradigm of progress attracted the Iranian elites’ attention after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s call for such an initiative.

In comments in March 2013, the Leader described developing such a paradigm as a great, glorious, long-term and detailed plan, and stressed, "A prerequisite for developing an Islamic-Iranian paradigm of progress and propagating it among the elites is creating a discourse of such a paradigm in society."

"Developing an Islamic-Iranian paradigm of progress is an effort to present the product of the Islamic Revolution and to create a new and advanced civilization - in all areas - which is based on Islamic thoughts. Therefore, there should be a long-term and deep outlook on such a paradigm," Imam Khamenei said at the time.
