Leader Highlights Significance of Continued Confrontation with Arrogant Powers

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that the concept of perpetual battle against the arrogance front should prevail in Iran’s affairs, but at the same time noted that the strategy would not mean belligerence in the Islamic Republic.

Addressing a gathering of Iranian lawmakers here in Tehran on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the Islamic establishment will not attain its goals unless it maintains the notion of continued battle against the arrogant powers.

“The reason for the emphasis on continuing the battle is not belligerence of the Islamic system, but common sense dictate that one should be well-equipped while crossing a region fraught with the pirates and should have the ability and motive to defend themselves,” the Leader explained.

Pointing to the atrocities in the contemporary world committed by certain countries which have gained knowledge, wealth and power, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed, “In these conditions, there is no choice except continuing the confrontation and dominance of the idea of battle in the country’s entire affairs, including the internal and the foreign ones.”

Imam Khamenei made it clear that the battle will not end until the humanity would be able to release itself from the evil effects of the “arrogance power, spearheaded by the US”.

The Leader also warned against the attempts to promote the “notion of compromise and surrender” in the country, and explained, “Those who want to promote the compromise and surrender to the bullies and accuse the Islamic establishment of belligerency are indeed committing treason.”

In relevant comments on May 21, Imam Khamenei reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to resist those bullying powers which seek to block the Islamic Republic of Iran's move in the right direction.

“The Iranian nation has chosen the correct path and will continue moving in its way and the majority of the world (nations) support this (Iranian) nation,” the leader said at the time.
