In the match held at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Iran and Nigeria drew 0-0.

Iran striker Reza Ghoochannejhad had a chance to score in the 34th minute but Vincent Enyeama, goalkeeper of Lille football team, cleared the ball.

Nigeria put the Iranian team under pressure in the last 10 minutes but could not find the back of the net.

John Obi Mikel of Nigeria was named as the Man of the Match.

“I’m satisfied with my players but our mission has not been fulfilled. From now, we have to think about Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Carlos Queiroz said.

“I must praise my players' efforts in this match. Our players fought during the 90 minutes and now we are still in the tournament,” the Portuguese added.

Argentina defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-1 in the group.

Iran will play Argentina on June 21 while Nigeria face Bosnia and Herzegovina.
