Brazil Held by Mexico in Group A

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Host Brazil held to a goalless draw against Mexico in Group A of the 2014 World Cup at the Castelao arena in Fortaleza, Brazil.

Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was Man of the Match after producing a series of superb reflex saves.

Mexico denied the Brazilians their 11th victory in a row.

The Brazilian team defeated Croatia 3-1 in the World Cup opening, while Mexico edged Cameroon 1-0.

''The draw wasn't a good result because a victory would have already allowed us to advance, but we need to be able to respect our opponent, which played very well,'' Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said in the post match news conference.

The result leaves both teams with four points each after two games in Group A, but Brazil is ahead on goal difference going into their decisive final matches.
