World Cup 2014: Croatia Demolishes 10-Man Cameroon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Croatia national football team defeated 10-man Cameroon 4-0 in Group A of the 2014 FIFA World Cup at the Arena Amazonia in Manaus on Thursday.

Cameroon, who was defeated against Mexico in its opening, was eliminated from the prestigious competitions with two defeats.

Ivica Olic scored just 11 minutes into the match.

Cameron’s Alex Song was sent off in the 40th minute for a wild punch. In the 48th minute, Ivan Perisic scored Croatia’s second goal.

Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, who did not play in the opening defeat by host Brazil as he was suspended, scored twin in the 61st and 73rd minutes.

"It's not the image of Cameroon I want to project. This hurts, a result like this. I know it’s hard to play 11 versus 10 but it’s not necessary to lose control like that. It's unimaginable,” Cameroon coach Volker Finke said.
