Zarif to Brief Iranian MPs over Nuclear Talks

The briefing session is in line with the interaction between the administration and the parliament, lawmaker Safar Naeimi Raz said, adding that during the session, the Iranian MPs will express their views and ask the foreign minister their questions on nuclear negotiations.

Since President Hassan Rouhani took office in August 2013, there have been very good relations between the administration and the parliament.

Tuesday parliamet session comes four days after the fifth round of negotiations between Tehran and the Group 5+1 over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program was held in the Austrian capital of Vienna on June 16-20.

After the fifth round of talks, Zarif emphasized that if some parties to the nuclear talks avoided excessive demands, reaching a final agreement would be possible.

The talks were aimed at drafting a comprehensive deal to resolve the decade-long standoff over Tehran's peaceful nuclear energy program.
