Zionist Regime Exploiting Regional Developments to Attack Palestinians: Hamas

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Representative of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, in Tehran said the Israeli regime is trying to misuse the conditions in the region to its own advantage.

“Exploiting the (current developments in the region), the Zionist enemy has intensified attacks against Palestinians on various pretexts,” Khaled Qadoumi said in a letter to Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.

Given the regrettable state of affairs in the Middle East, he said, the issue of Palestine is no longer the focus of attention of political circles and a priority for coverage by regional and global media.

Qadoumi further referred to the Israeli aggression on Palestinians in search for three allegedly missing Israeli settlers and said Zionist forces in the past few days  killed two Palestinians and arrested more than 250 others, including Hamas members and lawmakers.

The Zionist crackdown on Palestinians is part of a search campaign for three settlers, whom Israel claims went missing in the West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron) on June 12. Israeli soldiers have also raided some 2,100 buildings in the West Bank.

The Tel Aviv regime accuses the Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas of kidnapping the three Israeli settlers. However, Hamas rejects the claim, saying that Israel seeks to sabotage the recent reconciliation accord reached between the Palestinian factions of Hamas and Fatah, which led to the formation of the Palestinian national unity government earlier this month.
