70 Retaliatory Missiles Fired from Gaza into Southern Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced that it has fired over 70 missiles into the south of occupied territories, in retaliation for Israeli air strikes.

Rocket sirens sounded in Jerusalem, Mevasseret, Beit Shemesh, Gush Etzion, Ashdod, Rechovot, Be’er Sheva, Ashkelon, Har Hebron as Hamas launched a barrage of long-range missiles at southern Israeli towns, Israeli media reported.

Hamas, in a statement on Monday, described the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian residential areas as a redline and made it clear that if Tel Aviv does not stop the air strikes, it would step up its rocket attacks on the occupied territories.

The surge in violence has raged since the alleged kidnapping and killing of three Israeli youths last month. The Israeli military launched deadly attacks against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank as part of a massive manhunt.
