Eurostat: Iran-Germany Trade Exchange Up by 19%

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The volume of trade exchange between Iran and Germany in the first 4 months of this year has increased by 19 percent compared to the same period last year, data released by Eurostat showed.

Iran-Germany trade turnover from January to April 2013 stood at 759 million euros, and the figure soared to 904 million euros in the same period this year, according to the data.

German exports to Iran in the first four months increased by 20 percent, reaching 797 million euros compared to the same period last year.

German imports from the country in the same period also increased by 9 percent, reaching 107 million euros.

Back in May, Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian said that German companies are keen to take part in the implementation of energy projects in Iran.

The political situation in Iran is moving in such a way as to facilitate economic and trade ties with foreign countries, including Germany, Chitchian stated.
