Unity Needed to Tackle Muslim World Problems: Iranian Speaker

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani called on the world Muslims to ditch differences and maintain unity in a bid to end problems in the Muslim world.

Referring to the current crises in Muslim countries like Iraq and Syria, Larijani underlined that efforts must be made to enhance Muslim unity in order to tackle these crises.

While Syria has been gripped by deadly violence for more than three years, Iraq has also been witnessing a wave of violence, which escalated after the militants from the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group took control of large swathes of the country last month.

Larijani further referred to the recent escalation of Israeli aggressions against the oppressed Palestinian people and said dealing with this issue requires support from the world’s Muslims.

He regretted that the Zionist regime has been emboldened due to the Islamic countries’ weakness and the disunity among Muslims.

Israel has been pounding the Gaza Strip since Tuesday, killing at least 107 people and injuring more than 600.

Meanwhile, Tel Aviv is reportedly taking steps towards a ground incursion into the coastal enclave.
