Iran Calls for Immediate Action to End Israel Attacks on Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed deep concern over brutal attacks by the Zionist regime of Israel on the Palestinian people, calling for immediate action by the international community to end the regime’s atrocities.

“We feel that the defenseless women and children of Gaza are facing very tough conditions in the fasting month of Ramadan and the siege of the Gaza has deprived them of the needed food and medical supplies,” Rouhani stated during a Friday night telephone conversation with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.

He emphasized that his deep concerns about the Zionists’ brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip was the main reason behind calling the Kuwaiti emir.

The Iranian president also called on international institutions, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League, to take immediate action in this regard.

He described the Kuwaiti emir’s stances on the issue of Palestine as positive, saying that since he is the current head of the Arab League, such approach is of great importance.

“Immediate and serious steps are needed to be taken, and we are also ready for any kind of collaboration aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire,” Rouhani added.

The Kuwaiti emir, for his part, said the current situation in Palestine is painful and causes deep sorrow for everyone.

“I have commissioned the minister of foreign affairs to contact the Arab League memberstates and the United Nations to find a way to resolve the ongoing crisis or at least to broker a ceasefire,” he said.
