Iran’s Siri Refinery Exports 100,000 Barrels of NGL to India

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Sirri gas refinery in the southern island of Sirri has exported its third consignment of natural gas liquids (NGL) to India, the head of the facility announced on Saturday.

Mohammad Javad Sokhanvar said the consignment of 100,000 barrels of naphtha was prepared in the factory by the staff of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) in full compliance with safety measures.

He also stated that the NGL facility is now fully prepared to export propane and butane. NGL is among the most valuable and profitable refined products, Shana reported.

Launched in 2003, the NGL factory in Siri is envisaged to extract 140 million cubic feet of associated petroleum gas. The facility is expected to earn the country more than 150 million dollars a year.

Once fully operational, the factory will produce 841 tons of propane, 328 tons of butane, 361 barrels of pentane and 1,250 barrels of gas condensate a day.
