Leader Raps US, Britain for Supporting Israel’s Brutality
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei denounced the world hegemonic powers for ignoring the killing of innocent people of Gaza, saying the US and Britain are “officially” backing Israel’s brutal attacks against Palestinians.
Addressing a cultural gathering here in Tehran on Saturday night, Ayatollah Khamenei censured the world powers for “altering the realities” by taking advantage of media propaganda.
The Leader noted that sometimes the hegemonic powers raise hue and cry just for the death of an animal in some remote corner of the world, while they do not even care about the recent Israeli military strikes on Gaza and the death of more than 100 people, most of whom innocent children.
Imam Khamenei explained that the hegemonic powers brazenly support whatever cruelty and evil acts that serve their interests, and at the same time suppress any good behavior that may contradict their interests.
Israel has launched a new wave of military strike on the besieged Gaza Strip after tensions raged between Palestinians and Israelis following the burning alive of a Palestinian teen in East al-Quds by Zionist settlers.
16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir’s death has sparked a wave of protests across the Palestinian territories. Ever since, Israel has been pounding the blockaded enclave.
Since Tuesday, more than 150 Palestinians have lost their lives in a series of Israeli air attacks targeting different parts of the besieged Gaza Strip.
Some 1.7 million people in Gaza are deprived of their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.
