Iran, Indonesia Call for Closer Cooperation on Human Rights

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Indonesia pledged to promote bilateral cooperation in the areas of human rights and judicial issues.

In a Sunday meeting between Deputy Secretary of the Iranian Judiciary’s Human Rights Council Khosro Hakimi and the Director-General of Indonesian Foreign Ministry's Human Rights Office Mohammad Daneshvar, the two sides exchanged views on judiciary and human rights issues.

The Indonesian official, who arrived in Tehran at the head of a diplomatic delegation, spelled out his country’s judicial system as well as human rights activities carried out in the country.

The two sides also emphasized the need to promote mutual cooperation in the areas of human rights and judicial systems in light of the commonalities between the two Muslim nations.
