TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani once again underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the oppressed nation of Palestine.
“The great Iranian nation has and will stand by the oppressed Palestinian nation under all circumstances and continue to back their rightful struggle,” Larijani said in separate telephone conversations with Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Ramadan Abdullah and Head of Hamas Political Bureau Khaled Mashaal.
Referring to the Zionist regime’s latest brutal attacks on Gaza, Larijani said Tel Aviv has faced serious defeat in this conflict due to its flawed calculations and the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance forces.
He further stated that in current conditions, Muslim countries should put aside their differences and support the resistance of the Palestinian nation.
Ramadan Abdullah and Khaled Mashaal, for their part, appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s backing of the cause of Palestine, saying that it has played a major role in the victories and accomplishments of the Palestinian nation.
They also called for Muslims’ support for Palestinians, particularly the oppressed people of Gaza.
The Zionist regime has killed at least 260 people and injured nearly 1,900 others since it began its latest onslaught against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on July 8. About a third of the Palestinian fatalities are women and children.
Tel Aviv also launched a ground invasion in the Gaza Strip on Thursday after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the army to push the aggression against Gaza into a new stage.
