NIGC Prepares Plan to Implement Policies of Resistance Economy in Gas Sector

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has prepared a six-point plan for the development of the country’s gas industry based on the general policies of the ‘Resistance Economy’, a senior gas official announced.

Hassan Montazer Torbati, the planning director at the NIGC, said the company is seriously pursuing the policies of ‘Resistance Economy,’ initiated by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and has prepared a six-point plan for the gas industry within the framework of this kind of economy.

“Some overall objectives have been outlined for these (six) points, and based on the overall objectives, (certain) strategies and operational policies have been defined,” he stated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Torbati emphasized that NIGC is also pursuing the issue of self-sufficiency in the gas industry.

Earlier on February 19, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution had in a proclamation outlined a series of general policies to boost the country’s economy and lower its vulnerabilities.

The proclamation, laying out a grand plan for Resistance Economy in Iran, has been issued after consultations with the country’s Expediency Council and based upon the Clause 1 of Article 110 of the Iranian Constitution.
