Rouhani: Iran Seeks Regional Stability
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the restoration of peace and stability to the region tops the agenda of the Islamic Republic’s global strategy.
“Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is using all of its capabilities to establish security and stability, prevent bloodshed and restore fair justice to the region and will resist those dreaming of undermining Islam and Muslims,” said President Rouhani on Tuesday.
President Rouhani made the comments in a gathering of senior Iranian officials attended by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
A number of ambassadors from Muslim countries also took part in the meeting which was held on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of fasting month of Ramadan.
The Iranian president described the Israeli regime and the ISIL Takfiri terrorists as “two filthy tumors” with one of them shedding blood in the occupied territories and the other one murdering Muslims in the name of Islam.
“Analyses reveal that both tumors stem from the same origin,” Rouhani said, stressing that Muslims’ unity is the only way to tackle these problems.
The Iranian president also pointed to the arrogant powers' plots to prevent Muslim world from realizing its noble causes and called on Muslim countries to outline peace and justice-seeking face of Islam in the world and distance from ignorance and prejudice.
