“The Muslim countries must set aside differences and exploit all of their potentials to meet the needs of people of Gaza and while taking action against the blatant atrocities of the Zionists, declare their animosity against sponsors of the Israeli regime, especially the US and Britain,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to a gathering of senior Iranian officials and diplomats representing the Islamic countries, here in Tehran on Tuesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei once again condemned the Israeli onslaught on the defenseless people of Gaza and called on Muslim countries to come to the rescue of “oppressed people who are struggling under claws of the bloodthirsty Zionists.”
“Our clear message for the Islamic governments is that let’s rise to help the oppressed and show that the Islamic world will not stay silent on cruelty and oppression,” the Leader reiterated.
Imam Khamenei denounced what he called “blatant support” for Israel by “the arrogant powers including the US and Britain”, and also lashed out at the international organizations, like the UN, for “explicit or implicit” endorsement of atrocities committed by the Zionists.
The Leader added that such backings for Israel are deemed “complicity in the crimes by the bloodthirsty regime.”
Ayatollah Khamenei described it as an obligation for the Muslim nations and Islamic governments to “express abhorrence” at the Tel Aviv regime’s accomplices and supporters, calling on Muslims to take “economic and political” action against them.
On July 8, Israel launched air strikes on the Gaza Strip. After 10 days of bombardment of the enclave from the air and sea, the Israeli forces started a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
The death toll from 22 days of Israeli onslaught on Gaza has exceeded 1,100 and nearly 6,000 have been wounded.
