Iranian Cleric Warns Israel of Harsh Int’l Reaction

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A senior Iranian cleric cautioned Israel that its ongoing atrocities against people of Palestine will not remain unanswered, and told the Tel Aviv regime to await a burst of anger that would terminate its crimes.

Addressing a large gathering of worshippers here in Tehran today, Tehran's Provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani underlined that Israel should expect an eventual revenge.

Israel “should know that patience has limits and will be lost one day and then, the best destiny for that slaughtering regime will be death,” the cleric underlined.

Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani also emphasized the necessity to provide Palestinians with the required equipment to ward off the Israeli strikes.

“As mentioned by the Supreme Leader, Palestinians should be equipped,” he noted, adding that mainly the Muslim nations have an obligation to support people of Palestine, particularly those besieged in the Gaza Strip.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has in recent weeks highlighted the necessity for supporting Palestinian resistance groups in their fight with the Israeli regime.

On July 29, Imam Khamenei lashed out at US emphasis on the need for stripping the anti-Israeli resistance of weapons, and said the move is aimed at depriving the Palestinian nation from their limited possibility for defense and helping the Zionist enemy to oppress Palestine whenever possible.

“Unlike the view and effort of supporters of 'the child-murderer Zionist regime', the whole world and the Islamic world in particular have an obligation to arm the Palestinian nation as much as possible,” the Leader added.

These follow 25 days of harsh Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, where more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed and over 8,300 others have been injured.

While a three-day ceasefire was to take effect beginning Friday, Israel violated the truce after its warplanes bombed the town of Rafah in south of Gaza, killing at least 40 Palestinians and injuring many others.
