International Strategic Conference on Iran’s Steel Industry Slated for Mid-October

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian capital of Tehran will host the first International Strategic Conference on Iran’s Steel Industry, an official with the organizing committee said.

Economy

Mohammad Pishrochi said the conference and a sideline exhibition will be held on October 14-16.

He said the participants will discuss opportunities for investment in Iran’s steel industry as well as the technological status, balanced growth and required infrastructure for the development of the industry.

Pishrochi went on to say that the sideline exhibition will showcase the capabilities and potentials of Iran’s steel industry.

Iran is a major steel producer in the region and among the 15 major steel producers in the world.

The country ranked first in steel production in the Middle East in 2013.

Iran produced 15.4 million tons of raw steel during the period, witnessing a 6.6-percent growth compared to 2012.
