Rower Shadi Claims Iran’s Third Gold Medal in Asiad

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Mohsen Shadi Naghadeh won a gold medal at the men's single sculls race of the rowing in the 17th Asian Games in Incheonon Thursday.

In the competition held at the Chungju Tangeum Lake International Rowing Center,the Iranian rower clocked 7:08.21 minutes and claimed the gold medal.

Sawarn Singh from India finished in the second place with a time of 7:10.65 minute.

Grigoriy Feklistov from Kazakhstan won the bronze medal with 7:38.98 minute.

Iran has already bagged two gold medals in the games.

Najmeh Khedmati won Iran’s first gold medal in the women's 10m air rifle on Monday.

Wushu exponent Mohsen Mohammadseifi also seized a gold medal on Wednesday.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
