TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari plans to pay an official visit to Moscow in October to discuss Iran-Russia cooperation in high technologies, the Iranian ambassador to Russia said.

“The meeting is planned between the vice president, Sattari, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin,” Ambassador Mehdi Sanaei was quoted by Itar-Tass as saying on Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held bilateral talks on a range of issues, including ways to promote mutual cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 4th summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states in Russia’s southern city of Astrakhan.

During the meeting, Putin said close cooperation between Tehran and Moscow has been an important factor behind stability in Central Asia and the Middle East region.
