AFC U-19 Championship: Iran Defeats Myanmar
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Already-eliminated Iran defeated Myanmar 2-0 in the 2014 AFC U-19 Championship on Monday.
Yousef Seyyedi and Sadegh Moharrami scored for Iran in the 55th and 82nd minutes in Group A.
Iran was playing its last match before flying home after suffering two defeats against Thailand and Yemen.
There are 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams with the top two teams from all groups qualifying for the knockout stages.
The top four teams will qualify for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand.
The AFC U-19 Championship, formerly known as AFC Youth Championship, is an annual competition organized by the sport's Asian governing body, Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
