Hostile Attempts to Upset Iran’s Border Security Futile: IRGC Commander

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Monday, Major General Jafari said the Iranian border residents enjoy high security, particularly in the country’s southeastern areas.

The border regions are secure depite “such an extensive investment made by the trans-regional enemies, including the Americans, the Zionists and certain regional enemies and regardless of their broad planning,” the commander explained.

While Iran’s neighboring countries, such as Iraq in the West, are grappling with multiple security problems, many refer to the Islamic Republic as a “safe island” in the volatile Middle East region.

Back on October 16, IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said Iran fully monitors the hostile moves against the country, noting that such dominance covers the borders as well.

IRGC officials believe that such a high degree of security in the country has been acquired by reliance on the popular forces, residing in the border areas.
