Iran’s Parliament Vice-Speaker Condemns West Support for Terrorists

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s parliament vice-speaker Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard condemned Western countries’ support for terrorist groups.

“The power of terrorist groups in the region stems from Western countries’ military and financial support which came as part of pursuing their goals in the region,” said the senior Iranian lawmaker during a meeting with Vice Speaker of Hungary’s National Assembly Janos Latorcai in Tehran on Friday.

Aboutorabi-Fard also said the US-led coalition against the terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq will be futile.

Meanwhile, Vice Speaker of Hungary’s National Assembly Janos Latorcai said the battle against the terrorist groups need unity among all countries which are really concerned about the issue.

Meanwhile, both sides hailed further expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Hungary.

A Hungarian parliamentary delegation, headed by Janos Latorcai is on an official visit to Iran at the invitation of Vice-Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Seyed Mohammad Hassan Abu Torabifard.

During their 5-day stay in Iran, the Hungarian lawmakers will hold meetings with a number of senior Iranian parliamentarians and diplomats for talks on the bilateral issues.

Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Ukraine and Romania to the east, Serbia and Croatia to the south, Slovenia to the southwest and Austria to the west.
