Abbasali Wins Silver at World Karate Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Hamideh Abbasali claimed a silver medal at the 22nd World Senior Karate Championships on Saturday.
Abbasali lost to Egyptian Shymaa Abouel Yazed in the women's gold medal bout in the over 68 kg category at the OVB-Arena in Bremen, Germany.
Abbasali had won a gold medal in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in October.
The medals were contested by 1,200 competitors in both kumite (fighting) and 300 kata (set routines).
