Leader Lauds Iranian Armed Forces' Might

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei praised the Iranian Armed Forces' high capability to defend the country, and underlined that Iran's military might has been acknowledged even by foes.

“The world counts on the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and takes it serious, since it knows that the (Iranian) forces will do their best whenever it comes to responsibility and bravery,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a graduation ceremony of cadets of Iranian Army Imam Ali (AS) Military Academy here in Tehran on Monday.

The Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.

Ayatollah Khamenei then pointed to the West’s efforts to spread Islamophobia, and said the world’s bullying powers, who are afraid of the threats posed to their interests by the attractive messages of pure Islam, have employed all types of tools, cultural tools in particular, to make people of the world afraid of Islam.

Ayatollah Khamenei also described the establishment of terrorist groups and these groups' move to massacre innocent people in the name of Islam as another example for the enemies’ strategy to spread Islamophobia.

“Pure Islam’s message to humanity is a message of peace, dignity, honor and a life filled with tranquility," the leader said, adding that the ill-wishers do not want nations to get acquainted with this message.

In similar remarks in October and at an address to a huge gathering of people in Tehran on the festive occasion of Eid al-Ghadeer, Ayatollah Khamenei described the emergence of Takfiri moves in Iraq, Syria and some other countries as the result of a planning by the arrogant powers for creating rift among Muslims.

Imam Khamenei further called on the whole Muslims to completely avoid any move that might incite other religious sects.

“Shiites and Sunnis should know that any measure or remark, including an insult to each other’s sanctities, will cause sensitivity and ignite flames, and this will definitely serve the interests of the common enemy of the whole Muslims,” the Leader explained at the time.
