Iran’s Ghasemi Wins Silver in Asian Beach Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Reza Ghasemi from Iran seized a silver medal in the Men's 60m of the 2014 Asian Beach Games on Thursday.

The Iranian athlete grabbed a silver medal with a time of 7.17 seconds in the games underway in Phuket, Thailand.

Indonesian Iswandi Iswandi won the gold medal with 7.10 seconds and bronze medal went to Thailand’s Sowan Ruttanapon with 7.22 seconds.

The Iranian athletes are competing in 17 out of 26 sports in the event.

About 3,500 athletes and officers from 45 countries in Asia are participating in the games.

The first Asian Beach Games was held in Indonesia in 2008.

Vietnam will host the fifth edition in Khanh Hoa Province and Da Nang City in 2016.
