Zarif Stresses Closer Iran-Bosnia Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called for further promotion of bilateral relations between Tehran and Sarajevo.

In a telephone conversation with Bakir Izetbegovic, a new member of the presidential council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zarif congratulated the Bosnian official on his election.

The Iranian foreign minister also stressed the need for strengthening relations between the two countries in diverse areas.

Begovic, for his part, called for further reciprocal visits by the two countries’ officials at all diplomatic levels in line with the expansion of bilateral relations.

In August 2012, Iran and Bosnia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of tourism.
