Commander Highlights Iranian Navy's High Level of Preparedness

“Today, the Navy is at the highest level of preparedness and the forces’ capabilities are increasing day by day,” Major General Salehi told reporters in Iran's southern port city of Bushehr on Saturday.

Pointing to Iran's naval presence in high seas, the commander said that the presence signifies Navy's might, but at the same time noted that Navy's presence in far seas "conveys a message of peace and friendship" around the world to provide the ground for diplomacy in that regions.

Salehi also highlighted Navy's ability to provide its forces with the state-of-the-art equipment, and said, “We will witness the modernization and renovation of the surface and subsurface vessels by the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy."

He said the Navy will become stronger by new and renovated vessels.

On November 30, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of the political developments.

“Our Armed Forces should increase their preparedness constantly regardless of the political calculations, and should do the strategic planning by identifying their own shortcomings and also by studying the enemy’s possibilities and weaknesses,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a gathering of the Navy’s high-ranking commanders and officials on the occasion of the National Navy Day.

Pointing to Iran’s long water borders and the huge investment the enemies have made in the region around the country, the Leader stressed, “The Navy should continue playing its major and significant role in safeguarding the national security and public defense and protecting the country’s rigid borders through the up-to-date boost to the military preparedness and capabilities.”
