Nuclear Deal Possible if Iran's Legal Demands, Rights Respected: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Any agreement with the Group 5+1 over Iran's peaceful nuclear program will be possible if Tehran’s legal demands and rights are taken into account, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said in Tehran on Monday.

Speaking to members of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Shamkhani said reaching a deal which meets the two sides' interests and demands depends on the observance of Iran's legal rights without discrimination.

Shamkhani at the same time said the efforts of the US statesmen to misrepresent the results of the talks is in line with propaganda objectives.

“The team of nuclear negotiators includes children of the (Islamic) Revolution and during nuclear talks representatives of the Islamic Republic only pursue the demands and will of the Iranian nation."

He also referred to the high level of security in Iranian borders, and said Iran’s  lack of vulnerability to regional crises signifies the power and dominance of the Iranian security forces.

“Thanks to the valuable capabilities of the Iranian security and defense forces, military threat is the weakest scenario among future possibilities," Shamkhani underscored.
