Israeli Parliament Dissolution, Cabinet Disintegration Outcome of Gaza War: Hamas

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The dissolution of Israeli parliament and the disintegration of Netanyahu’s coalition government was an outcome of Gaza War, a spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said.

Palestine Al-Yawm quoted a spokesman for Hamas Fawzi Barhum as saying that recent political development in Israel show the chaotic situation there, referring to the recent dissolution of Israel’s Knesset amid the ongoing political infighting between coalition partners in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s cabinet.

“The resistance of the Palestinian movements against the recent attack by the Israeli army on Gaza has disrupted all equations,” he stated, adding that Israel failed to reach any of its goals in that war.

"The current chaos in Israel shows how hollow and fragile Israel’s political and social structure is," Barhum underlined.

Sami Abu Zuhri, another spokesman for Hamas, also referred to the disintegration of Israeli cabinet and considered it as another sign of the victory of Resistance and the defeat of Netanyahu in the Gaza Strip.

The current coalition in Israel was formed following the general elections in 2013. The next vote was due in 2017 but Israeli media say it may be brought forward to as early as March 17.
