Iranian President Felicitates Muslims on Holy Prophet’s Birth Anniversary

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani extended felicitations to Muslims on the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

In separate messages to Muslim countries’ leaders on Wednesday, Rouhani congratulated the auspicious occasion to Muslim nations and governments.

The Iranian chief executive expressed the hope that on the eve of this blessed occasion, attention will be paid to the importance of Islamic unity more than ever.

He also hoped that the devotees of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will take the Prophet’s way of life as their role model and by boosting religious fraternity pave the way for the development of peace, justice, growth and spirituality in the Muslim world. 

The 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal on the lunar Hijri calendar marks the birth anniversaries of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadeq (AS), the sixth Imam of Shiites. This year it falls on Friday, January 9.
