Hezbollah Condemns Terrorist Attack in Lebanon’s Tripoli

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lebanese Hezbollah Movement strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a cafe in a neighborhood of the country's northern city of Tripoli, which killed nine people and wounded 37 others.

In a statement, Hezbollah offered condolences to the families of the martyrs as well as to the residents and leaders of Jabal Mohsen Alawite neighborhood, calling on them to show restraint and patience and to avoid the reactions that help the criminals achieve their “despicable goals”.

Hezbollah also stated that targeting Tripoli is aimed at inciting sedition in the northern city, Al Manar TV Network reported on Sunday.

Al-Qaeda's Syria branch, the Al-Nusra Front, claimed responsibility for the attack in the Jabal Mohsen Alawite neighborhood.

Two suicide bombers killed nine people and wounded 37 others in the attack, according to local media reports.

Lebanese security forces believe the bombers lived in Mankubeen, a majority Sunni neighborhood just 500 meters (yards) away from Jabal Mohsen.
