AFC Asian Cup: Saudi Arabia Downs N. Korea

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia football team revived its chances of progressing at the 2015 Asian Cup with a convincing 4-1 win over North Korea on Wednesday.

In the match held at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Ryang Yong-gi found the back of the net in the 11th minute. It was his country's first Asian Cup goal since 1992.

Naif Hazazi equalized the match in the 37th minute and Mohammad Al Sahlawi scored a brace in 52nd and 54th minutes. Nawaf Al Abid scored the fourth goal for the three-time champion in the 77th minute.

The Saudis will face Uzbekistan on Sunday in Melbourne.

North Korea will take on China on the same day in Brisbane with its elimination from the competition already confirmed.
