Iranian, Iraqi Interior Ministers Meet in Tehran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iraq’s Interior Minister Mohammed Salem al-Ghabban, who is in Tehran for an official visit, met with his Iranian counterpart Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.

During the visit, the two ministers conferred on issues of mutual interests and the latest developments in the two countries’ ties and cooperation.

The Iraqi minister is in Tehran at the invitation of Rahmani Fazli and will hold further meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials.

In their latest meeting in Tehran last Monday, high-ranking officials from Iran and Iraq emphasized the need for exploitation of the two neighbors’ capacities to help improve the political and economic situation in the Middle East region.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Iraq’s Oil Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi al-Muntafiki explored avenues for the enhancement of bilateral ties between Tehran and Baghdad.
