Iran’s Parliament Speaker to Visit Turkey

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani plans to pay a visit to Turkey on Tuesday to attend the 10th meeting of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU), where he is scheduled to deliver a speech.

During the 3-day visit, Larijani will hold meetings with parliament speakers and other senior officials from the participating Islamic states for talks on bilateral and regional issues.

The tenth conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) will be held in Turkey from January 20 to 22.

The union was established in 1999 based on an initiative by Iran and is the parliamentary branch of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

It seeks to strengthen the parliamentary cooperation among the Islamic countries in order to solve the challenges with which the Islamic world is entangled.
