Asian Cup: Qatar 1 Bahrain 2
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Bahrain's national football team defeated Qatar 2-1 in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup Group C on Monday.
Both teams were left to play for pride in their final pool match at Stadium Australia following defeats to Iran and the UAE.
Bahrain midfielder Sayed Dhiya opened the scoring from close-range 10 minutes before half-time.
Hasan Al Haydos equalized the match with a 68th-minute free-kick.
Sayed Ahmed scored a stunning goal nine minutes from time to give Bahrain a victorious conclusion to its Asian Cup campaign.
Iran advanced to the quarters as the first Group C team by defeating the UAE 1-0 in Brisbane.
