TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said the launch of Fajr satellite into orbit once again thwarted the negative propaganda campaign against Iran.
Iran on Monday successfully sent the domestically-made Fajr (Dawn) satellite into orbit as the fourth homegrown satellite successfully launched into space by the Iranian experts. The satellite was sent into space using homegrown Safir-e Fajr satellite carrier.
In a congratulatory message to Iran’s defense minister on Tuesday, Shamkhani hailed the efforts made by Iranian space scientists, and highlighted the significance of the move.
The successful launch of the Iranian satellite, was another response to those false propaganda waged by the alien media that claim Tehran’s scientific development is stopped by anti-Iran sanctions, he said.
Earlier on Monday, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani also hailed the recent space accomplishment by Iranian scientists, and said the country would be able to supply all its needs in the space field in near future.
In his message, Rouhani expressed his congratulations on "the major achievement", and said, “Prominent Iranian scientists and thinkers have entered a new stage in space sciences.”
Iran has in recent years made great headways in manufacturing satellites thanks to the efforts made by its local scientists.
