Top Advisor Highlights Iran’s “Proper Response” to Cyber Threats

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A senior military advisor to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei revealed that Iran has already responded to the enemy’s cyber threats in an appropriate manner.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces have made remarkable progress in the sphere of cyber warfare and have been able to make proper responses to the enemies at different junctures,” Major General Seyed Yahya Rahim Safavi said during a Saturday visit to an IT research center affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

He also cautioned against the enemy’s cyber plots, saying Iran should constantly monitor all threats and formulate the necessary plans for any possible threat.

The Iranian experts have in recent years made great headway in producing home-made defensive equipment and have also made progress in securing the country against cyber-attacks.

Iran is now training Master of Science students in the field of cyber defense and the doctoral classes in that field will be also established in future.

According to Head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization General Gholam Reza Jalali, a detailed plan is being prepared for the academic training in the cyber defense subjects due to inadequacy of the fields and university students in the “banking and industrial” sectors.
