Countdown to Iran's 1st Health Exhibition in Baghdad

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The first specialized exhibition of Iranian medical products in Baghdad is scheduled to be held in the Iraqi capital from Monday to Thursday, a senior health ministry official announced.

“The big event will be held from February 16 to 19 in Baghdad with the participation of 90 domestic companies in the health sector,” Seyed Mohammad Akrami, an adviser to the international department of the health ministry, told the Tasnim News Agency.

He added that the exhibition will be opened in a ceremony with Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri and Health Minister Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi in attendance.

The exhibition, which is Iran’s biggest exposition in Iraq, is held in the areas of medicine and medical equipment exports, construction of hospitals, medical education, health tourism, health sector management in very large gatherings, like Arbaeen mourning processions.    

Back in December during the Arbaeen event, Iran dispatched a large convoy of medical staff and equipment to Iraq to provide services to the pilgrims who travel to the holy city of Karbala.

According to the head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Seyed Ali Marashi, 22 tons of medicinal supplies were sent to the Iraqi city.
