Iran’s Minority MPs Rap ISIL Atrocities

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Representatives of Iran’s religious minorities in the parliament slammed the atrocities committed by the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

In a joint statement, they condemned the ISIL crimes and called for ridding the Middle East of the evil group and developing peace in the world.

Representative of Armenians of Tehran and northern Iran Karen Khanlari, representative of Armenians of southern Iran Robert Beglarian. Assyrians’ representative Yonatan Bet-Kolia, Zoroastrians’ representative Esfandiar Ekhtiyari, and Jews’ representative Siamak Moresadeq have signed the statement.

It said ISIL’s brutality reached a climax with the ruthless killing of 21 Christian Copts in Egypt and burning 45 Iraqis alive.

A video released by the ISIL terrorists on Sunday showed the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya by the terrorist group.

The video showed the handcuffed hostages dressed in orange jumpsuits, similar to previous ISIL victims, kneeling down along the seaside near the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

Then on Tuesday, it was reported that ISIL Takfiri militants have torched to death at least 45 people in Iraq’s western town of al-Baghdadi.

The ISIL terrorists currently control parts of Iraq and Syria. The extremists have been carrying out horrific acts of violence, including public decapitations, against all Iraqi communities such as Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.

Elsewhere in their statement, the Iranian religious minority lawmakers condemned the recent murder of three Muslim Americans, describing it as an indication of moral and spiritual decline.

Last week, a 46-year-old American named Craig Hicks shot and killed three Muslim students -- Deah Barakat, his wife, Yusor Abu Salha, and her sister, Razan Abu Salha.

The brutal attack, which sparked outrage among Muslims in the United States, comes amid what many experts describe as a rising tide of Islamophobia in the United States.
