Asian Women's Handball Championship: Iran Loses to South Korea

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran suffered a heavy 60-11 defeat against South Korea on Saturday in the 15th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship.

Iran has been drawn in Pool A along with 11-time champion South Korea, Japan and Turkmenistan.

Iran will play Japan and Turkmenistan on Sunday and Wednesday respectively.

Pool B consists of host Indonesia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong.

The competition will take place on March 14 to 23 in Jakarta.

The Asian Handball Nations Championship is the official competition for senior national handball teams of Asia, and takes place every two years.

In addition to crowning the Asian champions, the tournament serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Championship, which will be held in Denmark.
