Iran Beaten by Japan in Asian Women's Handball Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Japan 45-11 in the 15th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship on Sunday.
The Iranian outfit opened the competition with a heavy 60-11 defeat to South Korea in Pool A on Saturday.
Iran will play India on March 19 at the Popki Sport Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Pool B consists of Indonesia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong.
The Asian Handball Nations Championship is the official competition for senior national handball teams of Asia, and takes place every two years.
In addition to crowning the Asian champions, the tournament serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Championship, which will be held in Denmark.
