Al-Hilal Lucky to Get Draw against Foolad, Coach Giorgos Donis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Al Hilal football team head coach Giorgos Donis admitted his side was lucky to get a draw against Foolad of Khuzestan.
Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia drew 0-0 with Foolad in Group C of the AFC Champions League on Tuesday and moved top of the group.
“Foolad was dominant team in the first 30 minutes of the match and we were lucky not to concede a goal,” Giorgos Donis said in the post match news conference.
“As we expected, Foolad’s match was very difficult. I believe that turf was bad and we could not play the football we wanted to play,” he added.
“We also had good chances in the first half and didn’t take advantage of them. In the first 25 minutes of the second half, Foolad was the better team and we were lucky,” Donis stated.
