President Prioritizes Economic Goals in New Iranian Year

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani set sustainable prosperity, a rise in non-oil exports and creation of more jobs as three main goals that his administration would pursue in the new Iranian year, which began on Saturday.

In his annual message to the Iranian nation on the advent of the Persian New Year and Nowruz, President Rouhani said his cabinet will focus on those three goals, particularly on job creation for the youth, during 1394, which started in the wee hours of Saturday.

The president said that encouraged by the public support, he is determined to take new steps to enhance the country’s non-oil exports and create new employment opportunities.

Congratulating the Iranians, both inside and outside the country, on the new year, Rouhani also extended his felicitation to all who observe the ancient festivities of Nowruz all over the region.

What the Iranian nation accomplished in the field of ‘Resistance Economy’ over the past year, has paved the way for the country’s nuclear negotiators to stand firm against the world’s hegemonic powers, he explained.

The fact that the Iranian nation achieved successes despite the pressure and sanctions imposed by the big powers proves that sanctions could by no means undermine the nation’s will, he noted.

No sanctions could ever have any impact on the sense of trust which prevails between the nation and government, Rouhani said, adding that such spirit will certainly prevail until the victory of the Iranian nation.

No one is racing for imposing more sanctions against Iran any more, he said.

Rather, President Rouhani underscored, countries are competing with each other to establish friendly ties with Iran.

Today, everyone can see that the world countries, especially the big powers, have come to the understanding that sanctions and threats are futile, he explained.

The world has now realized that interaction, understanding and respect are the only ways of treating the Iranian nation, he noted.

“We have already stabilized Iran’s nuclear rights, have destroyed the mechanism of sanctions and led the nation right to their sublime goals. We have expanded our ties with our neighbors in all areas,” the president pointed out.

He underlined that Iran’s policy focuses on détente and expansion of relations with the neighboring counties both in the east and west of the region.

President Rouhani also referred to the heroic achievements of Iran against terrorism, extremism and violence as another major success during the past Iranian year.

Iran never left its friends alone in their combat against terrorism, he said, adding that Tehran assisted its friends all over the region in the face of terrorism.

President Rouhani said Iran will continue to aid its friends against terrorism until extremism and radicalism are uprooted in the region and in the world.

The new Iranian year is a year of elections, so there should be a better atmosphere for the partisan activities, he stressed.

“We should raise the level of tolerance to prove our nation’s dignity to the enemies… We should prove to all that we can stand opposing opinions,” he added.

The administration also tries to improve the atmosphere of peace and tranquility for the cultural activities in order to help all innovative ideas flourish, Rouhani noted.

President Rouhani also wished prosperity for the country and peace in the region and the world during the new Iranian year.
