Iranian Players Dedicate Win against Chile to Journalists

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian football players dedicated their victory over Chile in a friendly match to the two Iranian journalists who died in the Alps air crash on Tuesday.

Iran beat Chile 2-0 at St Polten's NV Arena in Austria Thursday night thanks to two goals from Javad Nekounam and Vahid Amiri.

The Iranian football players dedicated the victory to Milad Hojjatoleslami and Hossein Javadi who were on their way to Austria to watch the Iranian national team play Chile but died after the German jetliner en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf, plunged from the sky and slammed into the French Alps, killing all 150 people on board.

Iran football team observed a minute's silence before its friendly match against Chile.

Iran Olympic football team will also wear black armbands and observe a minute's silence before its match against Palestine.

Iran will face Palestine on Friday in Group C of the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers in Tehran's Azadi Stadium.
